FACTION FIGHT.
Serious Waterside Trouble In Queensland. FEARS OF A RIOT. (Received 12 noon.) BEISBANE, this day. A faction fight has arisen among the waterside workers at Cairns and has assumed a serious aspect. At the request of the police attempts by ship owners to pick up labour have been abandoned owing to the fear of a riot between the opposing forces. The dispute has resolved itself into a fight between the Federal president of the union, who is in Cairns, and the Federal secretary in Melbourne.
