EMPIRE AIRWAYS.

British Mission Arrives In Australia. rARRANGING PROGRAMME. (Received 12 noon.) PERTH, tliis day. The special mission from the British Air Ministry, which is to investigate Australian and New Zealand conditions, has arrived. The Australian party comprises Group-Captain Fellowes, Fliglit-Lieuten-ant Nixon, and Mr. M. A. Giblett, superintendent of the airship section of the British Meterological Office. The mission is concerned with Britain's experimental programme for the construction of airships designed to secure quicker inter-communication between the Dominions and the Mother Country. The party said it is probable that demonstration flights to Australia and New Zealand would take place in 1930. It should be possible to plan a timetable on the assumption that the regular time of passing between Australia and England would be eleven days.
