FASHIONS IN BOOTS.
I British boot manufacturers are paying special attention nowadays to fashion in I men's wear, and it is evident that a I definite attempt is being made to increase business by the constant introduction of y new styles. Speaking along these lines l ® at Northampton recently, Alderman C. * W. Horrel, of Rushden, said he was in " favour of developing a fashion trade in ■6 men's goods, for there- were always people who would follow a fashion. He was rt doubtful whether trade would have been e " anything like so good as it was at present °" if manufacturers had stuck to the old J e solid goods they made ten to fifteen years ago. The class of goods being made in 3t country districts was surprising. He ™ had. seen recently machine-sewn goods et which looked just like pumps, and he conh. • fessed he could hardly see how they were as I made. Experiments were being developed id J -which, in the nsar future, would revolutionise the industry.
