■ SHARING THE COST. AUCKLAND CITT PAYS ONEQUARTER. Particulars have been received by the Newmarket Borough Council of the allocation of the cost of the Water Commission. The commission cost £1024, and this has been divided into hundredths, to be paid by the local bodies as follows: — Auckland City 2.1 hundredths, Newmarket 7, Onehunga 6, Takapuna 6, Northcote p, Mount Albert 10, Avondale 3, Mount Eden 17, Otahuhu 2, Birkenhead 2, Devonport 8, Ellerslie 1, Mount Roskill 3, Tamaki 2, One Tree Hill C.
