WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.
DARE—HAMES. The wedding was celebrated in the Paparoa Methodist Church ou Monday, June (>, of Miss Mildred Hames, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 11. Hames, of Paparoa, to Mr. Harold A. Dare, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Dare, of Thames. Mr. J. L. Mitchell was the ofliciating minister, The bride, who was given away by her father, was tastefully dressed in cyclamen pink crepe de chine, with silver 'lace, orange blossoms and veil. The bridesmaid, Miss Stella Hames, sister of the bride, wore pale blue silk and tulle. Mr. Russell Butler was best man. Mrs. D. E. Evans presided at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the house of the bride's parents. SLEEMAN—ROWNEY. A wedding took place at Waihi 011 Wednesday morning, when Mr. Sidney Creswick Sleeman, youngest son of Mr. \\. H. Sleeman, of Waihi, was married to Miss Francis Rownev, youngest daughter of Mrs. Clara Kowney, of Waihi. The ofliciating minister was the Rev. T. W. Featherstone, of the Methodist Church, Waihi. The best man was Mr. W. Sleeman, and Mr. J. Ashby acted as groomsman. The bride looked exceedingly well in white satin crepe de chine, with silver lace and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of lillies, carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Mavis Rownev, who wore apricot crepe de chine with silver lace, champagne shoes and stockings; Miss Freda Lewis (Auckland), mauve crepe de chine, silver shoes and stockings and Miss H. Sleeman, crepe de chine, silver lace, silver shoes and stockings. Each carried a pretty bouquet. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's mother. Subsequently the happy couple left for the North, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride's travelling dress was a brown repp frock, accordion pleated silk trimmings and hat.
