A WAITAKERE IMPROVEMENT.
NEV HALL BUILT. OPENING LAST NIGHT. After ten years' perserverance, a team of ratepayers known as the Waitakere Progressive League, has succeeded in having a public hall built. The league engaged Ml. Llaude Hill to erect the building, and the result of his work has meant a decided addition to the district's few public benefits.
Although the hall is but seventy feet long by thirty feet wide, a crowd of over three hundred and fifty gathered there for the official opening last night. People came from ail the nearby townships, Helensville. Kumtu, Swanson and Hobson vi lie, and even Auckland residents were noticed among the crowd. A firstclass dance floor is one of the manv attractive features of the hall, and despite the confined space, all present took part in an enjoyable dance that was held. During the evenii.g, items were given by well-known artists, and the crowd was fortunate enough to have secured the services of Miss Laura Walker, and Messrs. Dan Flood and Len Keven. Dancing was held to music supplied by tlie Hobsonville Orchestra, who played all the latest dance hits. Supper was served during the evening.
