No. 12 level: On the south branch of Dreadnought lode. east of llend<r?on crosscut. a total of 6Cift has been driven The width varied from 2ft to sft, and the assay value was 2S<l per ton. A crosscut at 64ift gave the following assay results: To 41ft, S/IO per ton : to 9ft. 0/ per ton ; r»ft to 14ft. 34/4 per ton: and 14ft to 18ft. lfi/ per ton. At No. 10 level the drill to intersect the Edward lode is down 159 ft. It passed through Sft of quartz at 101 ft, assay value 2/3 per ton.

Hauraki Mines.—The manager reported as follows: That owing to trouble with the bailing tanks and a hot bearinc. along with heavy rain, the water which hud been lowered to 50ft below the 300 ft level rose to Sft below, floodins the Cameron pump, which, however, continued to work steadily with over 30ft of water on the exhaust. This morning the water had been lowered to 20ft below the 300. and the machinery is again running smoothly.
