REFUSE NUISANCE.
It certainly i« time that something was done o prevent the refuse from many bou:«es being littered about. This is detrimental to health# besides providing food for rat:-. 1 have ofte® some of this rubbish scattered on tie road and footpath. It is not the fault of the rubbish carter. In fact it is a wonder he ran put up *ith the state of a lot of the reoc-i.taoles which cause the trouble. Thev often consist of oil drums, kerosene tins and'various other articles rotted through, with pieces of old tin and bits of wood laid on them for covers. Surely the authorities should see that these articles a" not falling to pieces and that th.-v have* proper lid fitted so that an<l rat* cannot push them off and spread the rubbish on thi road - f; F.O. THOMAS.
