CLEVER CANADIANS.
MANAWATU EASILY BEATiJN.
VISITORS XOT EXTENDED.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) TALMERSTOX NORTH, Wednesday. The Canadian Association football team defeated Mannwatu to-dav bv 6 poals to 0. The game was below expectations. The visitors could have won bv a larger margin, although the team they put on the lield was by no means '.heir strongest. Probably in view of the Wellington game, they were reserving their best players. Playing conditions were good from time tc time.
The Cahadians' forward line combined well, and Manawatu often saved the goal by clustering round it and getting in the way of the ball. The Canadians' play for the most part consisted of clever passing by the forwards and hard kicking by the fullbacks. Only occasionally was the Mapleleaf goal-keeper called upon to abandon his restful pose against the goalpost up to half time. A Manawatu forward movement, which was almost successful, livened up to some extent in the second half, but again the Canadians had the major share of the ball and were evidently taking things easv.
