AVONDALE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Avondale Borough Council was held yesterday evening, the Mayor, Mr. 11. Tiarks, presiding. A letter was received from the Public Trustee in connection with the main fewer extension loan of £1200, plating that the Ordcr-in-Council had not yet been issued, as it is understood that the State Advances Ollicc is conferring with the Treasury as to the necessary form of Order-in-Council where loan authorisations come tinder the provision of section 12 of the Local Government Loans Board Act, lsr'G. Applications were received from two separate parlies for permission to take shell from l'ollen Island at a royalty of one shilling per yard, but were refused. Two subdivision schemes weic submitted and approved. The Auckland and Suburban Drainage Bonrd forwarded assessment of current year's levy amounting to £507 2/10, which was an it.crease o! £20 14. 11 on last year's. The building inspector reported that during the past fortnight fourteen permits were issued at an estimated cost of £.'H3S, and that at '.lie present time 21 dwellings were in course of erection. The traftic inspector reported that during the past fortnight 2.5 olFenccs had come under his notice, and that steps were being taken to prosecute several of the offenders.
