POPULAR WITH COLLECTORS. BULLErTS "BIRDS" BRINGS £19 10/. Collectinjr books on old New Zealand has become quite a popular hobby with a number of people, and auction sales are •watched tc closelv that very few bargains slip throuph. At Arthur's rooms this morning about thirtv volumes were included in the sale of book? from tht estates of the late Mr. Frederic Shaw and the late Mrs. Binney. Mr. Shaw was a brother of Mr. Henry Shaw, who has been so generous to the Auckland Library. The highest price was brought by two volumes of Buller's '"Birds." which contains many excellent coloured plates of New Zealand bird*. It was the second edition. Bidding went to £10 10/ before the books were knocked down. Among the other New Zealand books sold were Kirk"# "X.Z.
