ECONOMIC SOCIETY.
FORMATION OF LOCAL BRANCH
A movement is on foot in Auckland to establish a branch of the Economic Society of Australia and New Zealand. The objects of the society are to assist in the preparation and "publication of information upon published material, lejjUlatiou and admini>tration and legal decisions bearing upon economic conditions in both the Commonwealth and the Dominion. In addition it will prove of assistance in connection with the dissemination of information and opinions upon economic conditions, and collaborate with any other society which promotes any of these objects. Already .Mr. A. <;. Lunn has accepted nomination as president, while others who have sipnili.-d their intention of accepting office are Professors H. Belshaw, J. I\ (jiossmann and H. \V. Segar. and such prominent citizens as Messrs' T. Bloodworth, L. A. Mnnder, A. M Seaman and Dr. K. P. Neale.
