A POOR COLLECTION.
GOSPEL TENT ENTERED.
Two men who made an attempt to burgle the Gospel Tent in Ponsonby Road about 11 o'clock last night, received a very small reward for their work. The tent, which is pitched some distance from the road, stands just behind a smaller tent in which a young man was sleeping. This was entered while the occupant was asleep, and a purse containing 4/10 gone through. While making their escape, the two intruders woke the sleeper, and he, getting out of bed, saw them climbing over a fence. Thinking that they were taking a short cut often used by residents of the district,, he did not bother to follow them, and not until this morning did he realise the reason for their visit.
