Green, JJ\'e,two etnrdily-built men, Harold John Brown and Henry Smith, were charged with having burglariously entered the premises of Dennis Heslop, butcher, of Queen Street, Onehunga, and stolen therefrom one German sausage, valued at 7/. No evidence was taken, as immediately the men were arraigned Police Sergeant J. Cruickshank applied for a week's remand, which was granted. It appears that about midnight Constable Poll was quietly patrolling the vicinity of the butcher's shop, and then continued on to Queen Street. When the public lights were extinguished, the constable returned to the route, and suspicious circumstances directed him to Mr. Heslop's premises. Going to the rear entrance he encountered the two prisoners leaving the back entrance, one in possession of a large German sausage. They made no attempt to escape, and immediately admitted the offence with which they were charged, when he took them to the station.
