1.5 tu « o d resident of Auck land, Mrs M. Fotheringham, who was also well known at Thames in the earlv & d r d & r her home ' Maidstone Street, Grey Lynn, at the age of 80 years. The Leslie Presbyterian Orphanage will benefit to the extent of £1000 under her will, and another £100 is' left to the Auckland Hospital Board to endow a cot in memory of her late husband.
Mrs. Fotheringham was born at Barrhead, Scotland, and came to New Zealand over 60 years ago with her husband, Mr. John Stewart Fotheringham. They lived at Thames in the early days of the goldfields and later removed to Auckland, where Mr. Fotheringham car* ried on a blacksmith's business in Chan* eery Street. They resided at Maidstone Street, Grey Lynn. There was no family. Mrs. Fotheringham for years attended St. James' Presbyterian Church, but latterly belonged to St. Peter's, Great North Road. She was an active social worker in her younger years. Her will provides for some personal bequests, and the f 100 for the Hospital Board, after which the balance goes to the Leslie Presbyterian Orphanage, and it is estimated that this will amount to about £1000.
