In the junior competition United defeated Puahue by 6 points to 3. The winners' score comprised a try by Martin and a penalty goal by Gregory, and Puahues a penalty goal by Coyne. A drawn game resulted between Parawera and Plrongia—6 each. Kurth obtained two tries for Parawera, and Bullford scored ami Grace kicked a penalty goal for Pirongia. Rovers juniors were fully extended to defeat Parawera by C points to nil, two penalty goals by Pollard.

GAMES IN THE SOUTH.

TAIHAPE. The Hantnpu v. Pirates match, which was witnessed on the Oval Domain by an exceptionally largo crowd of spectators, .proved to bo a very interesting and exciting game. The match, which was the final for the one round cup competition, was won by the Hantapu team by the narrow margin of 3 points. At half-time Pirates were leading by 3 to 0. a try scored in the early part of the game by R. MeOlure Daring the last few minutes of the second spell Hautapu were awarded a penalty. which was converted by T. Bennett, who converted a similar free kick a few minutes later at the conclusion of a very hard fought game. Hautapu won the cup from Pirates by 6 points to 3.
