MOUNT EDEN DOWN ST. LUKE'S. SEVERE DEFEATS BY. SHORTHANDED TEAMS. The third round of championship matches under the control of the Auckland Hockey Association were decided at Remuera on Saturday under adverse conThe heavy downpour at the start of the games started and rendered the grounds heavy and slippery. The play was of a moderate standard in consequence. The main match was between Areta and Somerville, but the blacks were ehorthanded, and Somerville piled up the big score of 7 goals to nil. University met Wesley, who were two short, and gained a win by 6 goals to nil. Mount Eden and St. Luke's had a hard, close game, and the Edenites came out victors by an odd goal to nil. MOUNT EDEN V.
