UNEMPLOYMENT INCREASING.
FIGURES FOR THE WEEK. POSITION'BECOMING MORE ACUTE. As the winter months advance, the unemployment situation in the city is becoming more acute. The figures advanced by the Labour Department for the past week show an increase as compared with those for the previous seven days. A total of -ISO men, capable of doing heavy work, are at present seeking engagements, while 149 workmen require light labour. Forty men were placed during the week. I
