A HANDY PEN.
WHEN NEAR CHEQUE BOOK. WOMAN SENT TO GAOL. FOR FALSE PRETENCES. "You have been convicted too many times, and your pen is too handy when it gets near a cheque book," the magistrate told Ivy Hazel Kite (35), who appeared at the Police Court this morning for seutence for having obtained, with- intent' to defraud, from Werner Thomas Taylor, goods worth .CI 10/ and £4 ! 15/ in money by means of a valueless cheque. Mr. Clarke, who appeared for accused, drew Mr. Hunt's attention to the fact that the accused had already spent over two weeks in gaol while awaiting sentence. "I will take that into consideration, but this woman cannot be allowed to go round taking people down like this, especially when a young man is doing his very, best to help her. She will be sentenced to two months' imprisonment," said Mr. F. K. Hunt..
