WAIUKU NEWS.
A special Meeting or the Town Board was held last evening to consider tenders for the earthwork in connection with the pipe drain in Domain Street, Mr. J. Walters presiding. Four tender? were received, the lowest, ,T. Alcksich ;it i'l3/13/- being accepted. It was decided to use concrete pipes instead of the ordinary glazed pipe, the difference in cost being small. The total cost of the work was estimated at £li."i. Towards this. Mr. James reported that the Domain Board would contribute £-•">. and the Football and Hockey Unions £10 each, the balance being found by the Town Board. The clerk was authorised to order the pipes and have the work carried out at once.
