PRESENTATIONS.
MR. AND MRS. W. MITCHELL. About sixty friends attended a social gathering held last evening at the Congregational Church, Devonport, for the purpose of wishing bon voyage to Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell, who leave shortly on an extended visit to Australia. Mr. Mitchell recently retired from busy commercial life, and is now taking a well-deserved holiday in company with his wife. During an interval, the Rev. Mark Finch, on behalf of members and friends presented Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell with a cabin dock, and expressed the hope they would have a pleasant holiday. Mr. Mitchell is secretary, and a life deacon of the church. Mr. J. Blackwood said a few words on behalf of the Sunday SchooL Advantage was taken of the opportunity to make a presentation to Mrs. Broberg, who has been honorary organist for a number of years. Mrs. Mitchell handed to Mrs. Broberg a Royal Ducal rose bowl, and a set of knives, at the same time expressing the thanks of the church members for the valuable services rendered for a long period.
