HIDE AND SKIN AUCTION.
DRY SHEEP SKINS BETTER
At the auction of hides and sheep skins this afternoon, slight improvement was shown in prices paid for some lines. Dry sheep skins realised better figures, and cow hides sold at from oneeighth to one farthing advance upon last week's figures. Quotations were:— Sheep Skins. —Three-quarter to full wool, fine, 1/ per lb; medium, lid; and coarse, 10d; half wool, 10d to 10% d; short, 9d to. 9ttd; and pelts, 7d to 7%d per lb. Best salted skins 7/ cash, medium 6/, small 4/ to 5/. Hides.— Heavy ox, 9%d per lb; medium, 9d; light, 7%d. Calf skins, 1/, and yearling BV4d per lb.
