PRAYER BOOK REVISION.
Burton says that he does not admit tnat there has been no general demand for Prayer Book revision, vet he furnishes no proof that a general demand does exist. Instead, he runs off at a tangent to criticise our Prayer Book, which is not the point in question. However, if Mr. Burton could prove that our Prayer Book is obsolete and doctnnally unsound it would still be a <ross injustice to foist an Anglo-Catholic Praver Book on a people who conscientious! v believe they find in the present Prayer Book all that is necessary for them to obtain eternal sslva~ tjon- 1° brief, the position is this: About 2000 clergy, nominally of the Church of England, for certain reasons desire a different Prayer Book. They are so un-Christianly selfish as to be willing to sacrifice the desires of millions of devout church people in order to achieve their object. C. W. H. PICKERING*
