MEDICAL CASES IN SCHOOLS.

Lack of system in following up the cases of children wdio have been under treatment at the primary school after they leave for higher study was complained of in the report read at the annual meeting of householders at Eerhampore, Wellington. During the past year, the report stated, the medical officers had examined a number of. children showing signs of goitre, and had prescribed the usual treatment, but unfortunately there appeared to be a lack of system in following it up. There was also the question of following up medical cases that had gone to the secondary schools. The whole question as to whether the service rendered under this heading was compatible with the money expended was one which should receive the careful consideration of those in control of medical examination and inspection. The good work of the dental clinic had been well maintained, and the committee urged an extension of the system.
