SOVIET AGENT.
Supposed to be " Eyes of Moscow." OPERATIONS IN FRANCE. PARIS. April 17. Believed to be the "eye of Moscow" in Franco, and a militant member of the Third International, a man known among Paris communists as Andre, has been arrested. It is thonjrht he may be concerned in the big Soviet military and naval espionage plot, in connection with which already seven arrests have been made. Andre lived extravagantly and travelled extensively. Recently he went to London, and on returning to Paris prouced a Swiss passport which declared his name was Robert Schmidt, of Basle. He had nearly £040 in his possession in French, English, Swiss and (JermaTi notes. I Inquiries showed that the rrnl Robert Schmidt was still in Basle, whereupon Andre declared that his real name was Gholler, and that he was a Polish doctor. The police are satisfied that Gheller is an important Moscow agent.
