Part of the scheme is to secure the discarded slabs from the mills, at present going to waste, in order to pulp them. In connection with tin: manufacture of wood pulp, experiments with birch show that the fibre of that timber is too sliortgrnineil for the purpose, but when blended with white and red pine very satisfactory results ate obtained.
