EASTER SERVICES.

(HITHHKS WKLL ATTENDED. Lar<:e rnngropat ions nt tended the scr'vices in the various churches yesterday, and white (lowers were largelv used in decorating the interior of the buildings. Special Easter hymns nnd other music ■ \mis a feature of the services in many churches. At St. Patrick's Cathedral there were very large congrejiat ions. Mass \vn« celebrated nt (>.."U», T.-'Ni nnd 9 a.m. At 11 a.m. Dr. .7. M. Liston, Coadjutor Bishop of Auckland, celebrated Solemn Pontifical Mass, Rev. Father McKeefry being deacon, and Rev. Father Kennedy : sub-deacon. Dr. Liston preached on "The Divinity of Christ." The music of the Mass was conducted by Professor Moorcj Karoly. Solemn Vespers and the Benediction of the Rlessed Sacrament was celebrated at. the evening service, when I Rev. Father Mansfield preached on '"The Catholic Church. -,

, Archbishop A. \V. Avcrill, Primate of ! Now Zealand, celebrated Communion at 7 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, lassislod by Archdeacons O. Mac Murray, j 11. A. Hawkins, and Canon Percival j .Tames, the vicar. The archbishop also preached at the evening service, the sexJ nion being broadcasted. ! At St. J , mil's Presbyterian Church, I Devonport, the Rev. \V. Lawson Marsh. 1 M.A., started his ministry yesterday with special Kastcr servici'i., which were I largely attended. Special acts of adorajtion of the triumphant re.-urrection of I Christ, were recited by Mr. Marsh while ■the congregation stood in the attitude of ' pi iiyer. j Speaking of the ministry of the Church i at Devonport, which he had just started. J Mr. Marsh said the snme power which i had been revealed at the Cross and the lieMirreotion, was still that which moved the world. Special Kaster music was played by Mr. C. M. Browne, of Stanley Bay. who J was organist for the day. \ Easter services were also held in the I churches of the various other denominations.
