The scratchings of Trimmer and Daisy Pointer left nineteen starters in the Belfast Handicap. Henry Logan was a little better backed than Pat Dillon, with Mac de Oro, and Haycock also strongly fancied. Logan Lily was smartest out, and at the end of two furlongs she had Henry Dillon, Mac de Oro, and Pat Dillon in close attendance. Passing the stand, Henry Logan joined Logan Lily in the lead, with Mac de Oro and Pat Dillon two lengths away, and Haycock, Mirie Dillon and Avenger heading the others. There was little change until the home turn was reached, where Logan Lily retired. Henry Dillon went on to win by two lengths "from Pat Dillon, who lasted long enough to beat Haycock by a neck. Avenger and Mac de Oro were at the head of the others. The times were: — •2.51, 2.51 l-ss. and 2.51 2-5. The Final Event. Fifteen acceptors took part in the Flying Handicap, Sea Pearl being a pronounced favourite, with the Peter Bingen-Logan Chief bracket as second choice. Sea Pearl was late in starting. Tremind was smartest out, an<# at the end of half-a-mile was just showing clear of Golden Devon, Escort and Glenelg, with Bonny Logan, Talent, and Pcte<" Bingen noxt. Three furlong!* from homo Golden Devon joined Trenand in the lond, with (ilenelg heading the others. Golden Devon shot in the front, unci two furlongs from home had Peter Bingen as ihc nearest attendant. Peter Bingen took Hiarge on reaching the straight, and heat Bonny Logan by three lengths, with Golden Devon, throe leneths back, third. Glenelg and Escort finished next.
