"APPALLING APATHY."
PREVENTION OF FIRE. REMEDIES SUGGESTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Captain Hugo, Dominion inspector ot tiro brigades, took the occasion of the brigades' competitions hero to comment on the "appalling apathy" in New Zealand in the matter of fire prevention. He suggested that the subject should be worked in with "Health Week." and lectures given on dangers which the public ignores. There were huge losses every year, and there was far too much carelessness.
