The French police have announced the partial uncovering of a vast espionage plot. They allege that Communists have been seeking information of French, military aerial -weapons for tho us* • of the Soviet Embassy. Two municipal councillors at St. Cyr, where the army aviation testing grounds arc located, have been arrested. The arrest of another municipal councillor, named Crement, -whom tho I police describe as a Communist, -was also ' ordered, but when the police visited Crement's home they found that he and bis woman secretary had been missing for three days. Two of the five Communists prcviouslr arrested are alleged to l* in possession of Government documents relating to national defence. ° Tho police declared that the Communists had approached workers in tho Government arsenals and factories in. the endeavour to gain information.
