A CLAIM UPHELD. A somewhat invohr-d esse came before Mr. W. R. McKcan S.M. at the Magistrate's court on Thursday afternoon. Haycock and McCoskrie " Ltd., 'Mr. Thwaites) sued the Clark Electrical Co.. (Mr. Armstrong) to rcoo\ir £195* Of this sum £120 was claimed on a p.n. £1 17/3 for meters, and ITS 2/<». haUwo alleged to be due for meters -upplied. After a long <onferen c outride the Court. Mr. Thwaites announced that the actual amount in dispute had been reduced to £G2 charged for loss of commission. Mr. Armstrong said the p.n. was admitted, and defendants were quite prepared to pay it. The only point in dispute was whether defcndrn:s were liable to pay anything further. Mr. Thwaites said it was owing to Mr. Clark not geting the p.n. barked to the satisfaction of the bank, that it could not be discounted, with the result that plaintiff loss the commission. Mr, Armstrong said Mr. Clark gave the p.n., but ue\<r agrctd t« get it backed. Several witnesses gave evidence as to Mr. Clark haxing to sret the r>.n. backed.
