A CLOTHES THIEF. TWO WEEKS DC GAOL. "He will drink and when he drrakf ho steals people's clothes. He got three months' imprisonment the last time and I cannot allow a man to fro on doing this sort of thing,"' Mr. F. K. Hunt said when William Alfred Roycroft (35) appeared for sentence on charges of steal" ing a coat valued at £1 10/ and * jacket and coat valued at £6 4/. "Quite so,"' replied accused's counsel, Mr. Dickson. "He has been off work on half-pay and took to drink. He is a married man with a family, so I would ask your Worship not to he too hard on him."' "I will treat him lightly and sentence him to 14 days' imprisonment on one of the charges."' said the magistrate. "Ha will also be prohibited."'
