people of Rotorua. The Government considered that the building, when completed, would lie a magnificent one, the cost being £10,04S and the area .'SOBB square feet. He also noted that the endowment was donated by the Arawas for all the people and for no particular race. The Minister, who was presented with a silver trowel, declared the stone well and truly laid. (Loud applause.) Mr. F. Hockly, M.P., said the Minister had shown special qualities for the position lie now filled, and lie congratulated the board on the appointments made to the staff of the new school. The ceremony closed with cheers for the Minister and Mrs. Wright, the Mayor and Mayoress, the school board, and the architect. The singing of the National Anthem concluded the proceedings.
