MANY APPLICATIONS MADE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI. this day. Applications by unemployed men for work on the Waihi-Whangsmata Road are beinp freely received by SeniorSerpeant McLean, the local agent of the Public Works Department, and the Labour Bureau. Mr. Park, late overseer of the Public Works Department at Gisborne, is in charge of the works.
