Heme Bay. in honour <>1 Miss Vera Emanuel, who leaves Xew Zealand this month to reside in Sydney. The guests brought every kind of kitchen utensil "except the kitchen -stove."' The haberdashery competition was won by Mrs. li. Emanuel, Mrs. .Jacobs capturing the booby prize. Songs were rendered delightfuilv by the hostess. Mrs. Emanuel, and Mrs. Glass and Mi-s Hynian. The hostess wore a printed creptde chine in navy blue, cyclamen and rose du barri: Miss Vera Emanuel, powder blue accordeon pleated georgette skirt, with jumper and hat of the same colour, of embossed velvet georgette and fine gold thread. The guests included Mesdames Braham, Glance, Kmanuel, Davis, Pezaro, (Joldstein, Zukerman. K.-n . Jacobs, Reynolds, Myers, Sowden, and the Misses Marks and liynian. A very pretty twenty-first l»irtlul.-» v party was given at the Click Cho-lc Cabaret on Friday, the Sth in-t. The hostess was Mrs. Ackroyd, late of Gwborne, the entertainment being in houour of her daughter Marley. There were over sixty guests. Many dainty dresses wero worn. The hostess looked regal in black georgette, heavily braided in gold, Miss Ackroyd, who is a charming brunette, was a very attractive figure ill a silver braided frock with touches of cyclamen ninou, and silver shoes and silvod headdress. The guests included Mesdames Garlick, Marsh, doluMon, Sowerby, and the Misses Wynyard, Dewing, Tunks, Milgan, Ford. IMummer, X. and F. Gaudin, P. Orr, Johnston.
