At the annual meeting of shareholder* of tlie British Tobacco Company (Australia!, Ltd., Mr. A. J. Warry, chairman of directors, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, after referring to efforts to assist growers, said that the crop in America had again been a good one, hut. prices had been somewhat higher than the previous year. The building iu which the shareholders were meeting, he said, and which was the headquarters of W. I), an.l 'H. O. Wills (Australia), Ltd.. and the cigarette manufacturing portion of the business, had been purchased by the Hailway Commissioners at a satisfactory price, and a new factory and office block was now in course of erection on the Kensington property in which to house the activities hitherto carried on there. Eneli of the subsidiary companies reported entirely satisfactory results during the past year.
