! -V liieoting of the VVaiuku Town Board I was held on Monday evening, Sir. J. Walters I presiding. [ The board's solicitor advised that the trustees had 110 power to grant permission tor the construction of a training track for horses on tlie recreation reserve. On account of the lease of part of the Landing Keserve not having been completed, the clerk was authorised to take tlie necessary steps to liave the lease disposed of by public auction. A special meeting will be held on the 25th inst. to confer with the Domain Board re the proposed ll'in drain to carry off stormwater from the Domain and Kaiiway Street. A cnriiinitiee was appointed to ascertain what can be done to protect the embankment at the vicarage in George Street. Ii w.is decided to coat the footpaths mi (]•.. 11 : net to the station with chips.
