Hamilton was now- trying to get the assistance of e. outside unions and was trvinor i n devious ways to cause divisions amongst country unions with the object of smashing the present basis of the Waikato Lnion. Hamilton said if it did not get what it wanted it would pull out. At moment, two countrv unions wore "on the turn." Matamata, he understood. had turned round 011 one thing. 1 hey had agreed that the country unions should pay their representatives travelling expenses. It was the thin end of the wedge and it was aimed to create discord. This year the country unions would find themselves sorely pressed. It was decided to oppose a notice of motion that sub-union* bear the travelling expenses of Waikato Union rep players.
