The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated April 9, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Butter. —New Zealand prices are irregular, but the demand is good. Other descriptions are steady. Official quotations are:— New Zealand.—Finest salted: April 9, 150/ to 154/ per cwt; April 2. 152/ to 100/. Unsalted: April 9, 162/ to 164/; April 2. 160/ to 164/. Other qualities: April 9, 140/ to 148/. Australian.—Salted: April 9, 150/ to 154/ per cwt; April 2, 150/ to 154/. Unsalted: April 9, 158/ to 162/; April 2, 156/ to 162/. Other qualities: April 9, 138/ to 152/. Argentine.—Unsalted: April 9, 156/ to 158/ per cwt; April 2, 152/ to 156/. Other qualities: April 9, 150/ to 154/. Danish.—April 9. 182/ to 185/ per cwt; April 2, 182/ to 184/. Cheese. —Colonial market is steady with good demand. Official quotations are:— English.—Finest farmers' (stocks small): April 9, 120/ to 124/ per cwt; April 2. " y to 124/. Canadian.—Finest coloured and white.
