The first meeting of the New Zealand branch of the Cyclists Touring Club was held on Wednesday. Mr. H W Stowers, well known "in tlie cycling world, presided. All present were rolled as members, including a number of prominent racing men. The club, it was explained, does not cater for racing, but is more concerned ■with the defence of cyclists' rights on the road, better road conditions and the pleasures of cycling as a recreation rather than a sport.
