COUNTRY DISPLEASED.

Victorian Arrangements For Duke. NO VISITS PLANNED. (Received 1.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Much dissatisfaction has been caused in the country centres of Victoria over the arrangements for the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York. Of the eight days devoted to Victoria all will be spe*nt in Melbourne. Only one country centre, Ballarat. will be officially visited, Their Royal Highnesses calling there for half an hour en route to Adelaide. The Federal capital programme, it is pointed out, had necessarily to include important Federal functions as well as those of State and within the time available it was impossible for the Royal couple to visit all the parts. The programme had been drawn up by the Federal Government in order to make reasonable provision for the visitors' rest and comfort.
