The Commonwealth Statistician has prepared statistics relating to the distribution of Australian trade in the year ended June 30, 1926. Exports to British countries were 52.78 per cent of ihe total, and imports from British countries 56.47 per cent of the total. In the year 1024-25 exports to British countries were 53.05 per cent of the total, and imports from British countries 57.71 of the total. Trade with the Empire was not so preat last year, as it was the previous year. British possessions as a whol- took 11.35 per cent of the exports, and returned 13.05 per cent of the imports. But imports from Canada were more than four times the exports to Canada, from Ceylon imports were three times the exports thither, and from India the proportion was two to one. Trade with South Africa was the other way. Exports thither were more than two and a-half times as great as imports from that dominion.
