DEDUCTION CAUSES TROUBLE REWANTJI MINERS STOP WORK NEGOTIATIONS FRUITLESS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, tliis day. Last Thursday week a fan stopped working in the middle brake section of the Rewanui State Mine, causing the men to lose one hour's pav for lost time deducted by the management. The men protested, on the ground that the stoppage was through no fault of their own, and under the circumstances they contended that the deduction from their pay was a breach of agreement, and sent a deputation to the management with a request for a refund. This was refused, and at a stopwork meetine this morning the miners resolved to cease work until their request was granted. The men in No. 1 seetiun also ceased work, in sympathv.
