UNIVERSITY DEGREES.
■ SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES. The following degrees were granted to-day by the University Council: — S. Kenneth Phillips, Doctor of Music. G. H. Cunningham and J. R. Hosking, Doctor of Physics. N. L. Edson, Bachelor of Medical Science. A letter was received from H. O. • Askew informing the council that, as a Dominion research scholar at the Imperial College, he had obtained the Doctor of Physics degree of the London University and the Diploma of the Imperial College. The council decided to send its congratulations to Dr. Askew. ' Dr. J. S. Yeates sent a request asking [ that his post-graduate scholarship be , extended for a third year. It was decided to reply that, under the Statute the council had no power to do , this. -
