EYESIGHT SAVED BY SPECTACLES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondnet.) TE AWAMUTU, this day. The fact that he was wearing spectacles probably saved the eyesight of a man named. Taylor yesterday afternoon, when he sustained injuries to tho face through a spirit lamp exploding in the boat-making establishment at which he was employed. Fortunately. Taylor escaped with minor injuries, and is progressing favourably.
