BANK FAILURE.
HEAVY LIABILITIES. AMERICAN TRUST CO. (Received 10.30 a.m.) MONTREAL, December 20. A message from Dcs Moines (Iowa) states that the Loan Trust Company Bank, with £100,000 capital, £100,000 surplus, and £1,400,000 deposits, hai failed due to frozen real estate loans accumulated over several years. The bank is liable for over £1,000,000 endorsed mortgages in addition to deposits.
