PAPAKURA POLICE COURT.
i i ■ A COLLISION CASE. A collision between a motor van and a five-seater motor car on September 27, on tie Great South Road between Papakura and Drury, resulted in the owner of the former, Ada Bernard, of Drury, claiming from Eric Joseph Campbell, taxi proprietor, £34 10/2 at the Papakura Police Court. Plaintiff in evidence, stated that she was proceeding from Papakura when she noticed the glare of another car'a light on the opposite side of the hill. She kept on her correct side, and slowed down to not more than 15 miles per hour. She estimated defendant's speed at 30 to 35 miles. She stated that defendant admitted that he Was travelling at a speed of 30 miles. One witness who visited the scene said the cars were on their correct side and he -attributed the collision to slipping on the Metal. Defendant said he slowed down to 10 or 15 miles before the accident occurred, and that plaintiff's car was pursuing an erratic course. Three occupants of the car gave evidenco in support of the defendant. Mr. J. W. Poynton.
