HAGLEY PARK.
QUESTIOX OF RATIXG. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Portion of Hagley Park has been leased for grazing purposes for a period of three years from Xovember last. This has the effect of making the land liable for rates which for the current year amount to £332 10/. The by-laws committee reported to the City Council last night that it will be necessary for these rates to be paid by the Domains Board as there ie no power to remit them. It is understood that the lease contains a provision that the lessee shall not be liable for rates.
