Good News For All Peter Pan's Readers.

" BUDGET" BREAKS UNDER TERRIFIC STRAIN. FOLLOWING ON LONG ILLNESS. A SPRING CLEANING LETTER. Dear Boys and Girls, — I knew it must happen. Wendy had warned mc, and the old croc, had been muttering to himself for ages about it all. For some long time now the " Budget " has been under the supervision of the Never Never Land physician. After mature consideration he delivered his verdict. The " Budget" is suffering from severe strain caused by overloading of the Mail Bag, and aggravated by the addition of Peter Pan's monster Christmas competition. To the accompaniment of Wendy's " Oh! poor thing," and the croc's, " I told you so," the doctor proceeded to explain the necessary treatment, when Bang! "Oh! poor dear," sobbed Wendy. "Oh! oh!" I must confess that it was with an uneasy conscience that I went to the sick bed to find the poor " Budget." It had given up the unequal struggle, and with one big heave had broken its bounds and taken up half of the next page. It is all over now. The " Budget " is well again, and you boys and girls will be able to find more interesting things in our page than has been possible previously. Now then, all together, Three cheers for the "Budget!" Hip-hip-hurray! 1 think I will make this a " spring cleaning " letter and " clean up " many little items that are puzzling my readers. First of all, about the club members. At the present time I have a staff hard at work copying out all the particulars from your enrolment forms on to cards so that finally I will have a complete record of each member of my big family. By the time this is done the membership certificates will be ready, and the receipt of your certificate will be the acknowledgment of your acceptance as a member of the Peter Pan Club. Badges will be issued to club members only, and can be obtained at a cost of 1/3, which includes postage. Many children are applying for the Peter Pan Writing Tablet, and boys and girls are reminded that this attractive pad, composed of 50 leaves of good quality cream-laid paper, can be obtained at this office at the cost of sixpence, or will be posted to any address for 8 id. Children who have not yet availed themselves of this splendid offer are" advised to do so at once, as the big demand for pads is rapidly diminishing the stock in hand. How are you all getting on with the Christmas competition. Do remember to read the rules, for it &fl " ~P would be a shame if, after all the . '^J\mS'm^^'^^ work, your entry had to be thrown I to the croc, on account of some \>H QAfi^^'^ careless mistake. Best of luck to yj*^^***^ you all.
