THE ROYAL VISIT.
MAORI DEMONSTRATION. ROTORUA PREPARING. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, Friday. Sir Maui Pomare, Mr. H. R. H. Balneavis. and Mr. H. Tai Mitchell, members of the commission appointed to make arrangements for the Maori demonstration for the Royal visit, attended a meeting at Whakarewarewa on Wednesday, when it was decided that local committees be appointed at Maketu. Matata. Whakatane, Taupo, Te Puke and in the Urewera, and that the executive for the whole district be the Arawa Trust Board. It is estimated that 2500 Maoris will be present at the Royal visit, including 200 from a distance. Sir Maui left this morning for Tauranga Mr. Balneavis remains here until Tuesday.
